Walsh Pizzi O’Reilly Falanga LLP would like to welcome Michael S. Asante-Appiah and Lauryn K. Kearney to the firm as associates! Both Michael and Lauryn previously served as Summer Associates at Walsh in 2024 and return to the firm following judicial clerkships with the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.
Michael focuses his practice on Business and Commercial Litigation. Before joining Walsh, he clerked for the Honorable Heidi W. Currier, Chief Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2025, where he served as Digital & Technology Editor of the Seton Hall Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. He was also a 2024 Fall Leadership Fellow and received the Appellate Advocacy “Best Oral Advocate” award. He was recognized for his contributions to the Immigrants’ & International Human Rights Clinic. Michael received his B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University, where he was a two-time recipient of the Academic and Service Award from the Purdue Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff and a three-time Dean’s List honoree.
Lauryn focuses her practice on Business and Commercial Litigation. Before joining Walsh, she clerked for the Honorable Hany Mawla, Deputy Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. Lauryn earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2025, where she served as a Publication Editor of the Rutgers University Law Review and received the Rutgers Law School Award for Excellence in Health Law. She also served as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research & Writing and volunteered with the Hon. Morris Stern Bankruptcy Assistance Project. She received her B.A. in History from Florida State University.
