Partner Stephen V. Falanga to be Honored by New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation at Annual Gala

Newark, N.J., September 4, 2025 – The New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation (NJBLF) announced the honorees for its upcoming Evening of Celebration Gala. Walsh Pizzi O’Reilly Falanga LLP is proud to share that firm co-founder and partner, Stephen V. Falanga, has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Hugh M. Leonard Award.

The award, which is named in memory of Hugh M. Leonard, who was an icon in the New Jersey bankruptcy bar known for his tireless dedication to advancing the practice of bankruptcy law, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to strengthening and improving the bankruptcy community.

“To be recognized by the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation and my peers in this way is an honor and a privilege – particularly with an award associated with Hugh Leonard,” said Falanga. “I am grateful to my colleagues, mentors, friends and family who have supported me throughout my career. The opportunity to contribute to our profession and the bankruptcy community is its own reward, and I am truly humbled and thankful for this acknowledgement.”

In addition to Mr. Falanga, the NJBLF will honor:

  • Charles Forman – Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Ross Switkes – Future Leader Award
  • Meaghan Tuohey – Volunteer of the Year

 

The Annual Evening of Celebration Gala is co-sponsored by the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation of New Jersey, New Jersey State Bar Association, and Turnaround Management Association of New Jersey.
