NEWARK, NJ, March 7, 2022–Walsh Associate Joseph L. Linares will participate on the GOOD Guys + Men in the Mix: Male Allyship and Success in the Law panel during the 2022 Hispanic National Bar Association/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference on March 25.

The presentation is based on a combination of two programs–GOOD Guys and Men in the Mix–which together provide a wide array of information for male allies. GOOD (Guys Overcoming Obstacles to Diversity) Guys is a program created by the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations to integrate DE&I with male leaders. Men in the Mix is a project of the ABA’s Commission on Women to assess how DE&I can better engage male allies. Panelists will discuss firms’ benefits from DE&I initiatives, the importance of male allies, and how male leaders can succeed at DE&I.

“As an attorney at a leading majority women-owned law firm and the father of young girls, allyship is clearly important to me,” Linares said. “Women’s advancement in law is vital to evolution of the practice and we all need to recognize and address circumstances which lead to experienced female lawyers leaving the profession.”

The panel will be moderated by Robert Maldonado, Counsel at Wolf Greenfield. Linares will be joined on the panel by Teresa Beck, Managing Shareholder of Arizona and Nevada and Co-Chair of DE&I Committee at Klinedinst Law; Rosevelie Márquez Morales, D&I Director for the Americas at Hogan Lovells; and Valerie T. Matherne, Operations Lead at Chevron.

Linares concentrates his practice on litigation, contract drafting and complex negotiations, and he handles a multitude of dispute types including contract claims and drafting, intellectual property, employment, construction and torts as well corporate/business law and transactional work.

The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of over 67,000+ Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, law students, and legal professionals in the United States and its territories.
