NEWARK, NJ, October 1, 2019 – Walsh Counsel Katherine Romano has been invited to join The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC is the preeminent peer-reviewed global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.

“We are proud of Katherine for this invitation-only honor to join the IADC’s 2,500 members from around the world,” said Walsh Partner Peter J. Pizzi. “It’s an incredible accomplishment and recognizes her skill in this practice area as well as her continued hard work.”

Members must be nominated by an IADC member and have two additional IADC sponsors.  Before being extended an invitation, they also complete a vigorous vetting process by the IADC Membership Committee, which seeks input from members in the nominee’s state or region, and then nominations are reviewed by the Board of Directors.

Katherine represents a diverse group of clients including pharmaceutical companies, insurers, employers, and individuals in litigation in state and federal court, at the trial court and appellate levels. Appellate advocacy is a central focus of her practice, and she regularly represents corporations and individuals in matters before the U.S. Courts of Appeals. Katherine also regularly conducts investigations on behalf of clients of the firm, including investigations into allegations of external fraud, employee misconduct, harassment, and exploitation.

Founded in 1920, the IADC’s members hail from six continents, nearly 50 countries and territories, and all 50 U.S. states. The core purposes of the IADC are to enhance the development of skills, promote professionalism and diversity, and facilitate camaraderie among its members, their clients, and the broader civil justice community.
