Our Practice Areas

Construction Law

Our construction practice is comprised of lawyers who have substantial experience in representing every facet of the construction industry including public and private owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, developers, and sureties and guarantors. We advise clients at all stages of the construction process from initial project planning through substantial completion on virtually every type of construction endeavor. We provide advice and counsel with respect to projects of all sizes and complexity at every step of the construction process including drafting and negotiating contracts, analyzing, preparing, and resolving claims.

Our team includes lawyers who are engineers and who have been designated as construction arbitrators by the American Arbitration Association.  As such, we are uniquely qualified to work with experts in addressing claims for changed or unforeseen conditions, delays, disruption, productivity loss acceleration, cost acceleration, lost profit and wrongful termination. We also work with forensic experts to investigate the cause of construction failures, to defend against claims for defective workmanship and design, and/or to recover costs incurred in remediating construction failures.

We have practiced extensively in New Jersey and New York and monitor evolving case law, legislative enactments, and trends in the law, including mechanic’s lien laws and public bidding statutes. We also have substantial experience in prosecuting claims against performance and payment bonds, and defending sureties against such claims.

Our attorneys are specialists in the field of construction and can be a valuable asset to clients in controlling risk, meeting schedules, and minimizing overall project costs.
